PHPmotion v3 and v 3.5 Support > Upgrading PHPmotion V3 to V3.5
Why would I want to Upgrade?
onlineskatejam:
Is there a good reason why I should upgrade from v3 to v3.5?
It ain't broke.
I saw the change log and was wondering what exactly will change?
What is I like my site the way it is?
What if I like my player the way it is?
Could you list the changes and how they will effect functionality?
I am sure the response will be "Go look at this other thread" But I didn't see the Why and What will be effected and Why I want that to be effected.
frankie:
sure is, v3 is no longer being updated
onlineskatejam:
Umm. Was that an attempt at an answer? If v3 ain't broke why fix it?
Nice try at an answer. ;)

REAO:
I feel what you are saying onlineskatejam .
I spend hours searching to find endless response " go use the search function" attitude and rude blunt responses.
In all honesty the atmosphere here is terrible at times.
If running this forum is such a chore, it makes me wonder why bother.
I like the video script that's the only reason I keep returning...
Thanks for taking the time and posting a link Shawn.

I don't think they are trying to be sarcastic at all,
A forum is not for the owners responsibility to be at peoples beck and call!
I think people should spend a little more time SEARCHING for a topic before they freak out and say HELP ME!!!!! or TELL ME!!!!! That is RUDE!
But this thread start had a valid question I guess.
But I will say this, with many years of experience in running other peoples scripts on websites,
If you are going to run a script, it is very wise to keep following the updates.
Heck, look at scripts like Vbulletin and Wordpress. Awesome scripts, but they have updates on a semi-weekly or monthly basis sometimes. There are good reasons for the updates many times.
Thats how excellent scripts become AWESOME scripts in my opinion.
The best thing about phpMotion is that they stay on the pursuit to make it better and better. That is the sign of a successful script that I would stay with!
Bottom line, if the script makers find reasons to update, I highly recommend you to get updated and follow the trail while the upgrades are easy. If you wait, it could be fatal...
Just my opinion anyways...
Good luck.
Oh darn it, I can't quit yet,
In frankies defense, he sure does go out of the box helping people for sure, and people like me for instance, which need the help for some of the server intensive and ffmpeg goodies that ALL video scripts have, I REALLY APPRECIATE the help he gives when I need it! I am always very patient to wait for an answer.
I actually run a very popular webmaster forum and I specialize in a particular thing there, which I won't even mention because that wouldn't be cool, but I know that if people were to bash me and my work to sustain a cool forum, they are some of the last people I would try to help, get it?.... I do eventually, but I cringe when I do!
I follow a good guideline in life..... Treat people as they treat you, maybe a little better.
If I were onlineskatejam, I would thank both frankie and Shawn for the posts but it was a very valid question I think...
