Is opaque background possible?

Is it possible to have an opaque effect for a background colour, so you can see a page background image through a box, like the my media or my friends box, but slightly blurry if you know what I mean?

I do mean semi transparent. 

So I want to be able to see the page background on the profile through the "my Media box"  how can user make the background in the "My Media Box" semi transparent.  It looks like I can only change the colour of the "My Media" box and not load an image...  Or an i interpreting it wrong?

pete,

just go to the custom profile, then select my content, then delete the color setting
from the Background color, just let that be blank - empty, then submit, submit.
then the page background will show

Thanks Bruce - will give that a go.  Does that make it 100% transparent?  Or can you adjust the level of trtansparency?

well without any background color setting it is totally transparent, the page background color or image shows thru
